if you want to get, it should be here in aug in HG. if you know any SE in HG, ask them to reserve one for you.
You mean the price quote by Tai Hong Hung is higher then the quote from Hourglass?
I thought HG is a premium shop and should be selling more EX then other smaller retailer....
How about discount? Will the discount given at TTH better then HG?
Sorry for asking too many questions.. I am newbie here ...thx...

try reading this thread
you buying pre-owned or brand new?
if pre-own, read for list of pre-owned shops
you can come here for advice, @ the end of the day, you still need to do abit of homework on your own. this means visiting couple of shops to see how much they are selling a particular model. from there, you can gauge the price. the discounts some quote here varies because of relationship with AD. also the discount given is based on what price? MSRP or ?? though for brand new watches, usually quote is based on MSRP.Last edited by triton; 26-09-07, 11:45 PM.if you have issues with your account, click here for self help and read forum rules here. 90% of your answers can be found in Forum FAQ

my 2 cents, try visit as many ADs as possible. get comfortable. I guess the initial few times can be `daunting', but after a few visits and chatting with them, u shld be more confident. in some ways, i suspect an experienced SE can read your body language to see if u r serious, so you need to be comfortable and appear to be on the `upper hand'....
i also have a conspiracy theory; buy towards month end. some may have quota to meet, and therefore if you r luck-in, you may get a good deal.
also, when u r ready to buy, go and call their bluff. say shop so and so offer you this price for this model....sometime they may match or even better it. i tried it once on a watch i eyed and it worked, i got a lower price than what i quoted him. i ended up buying the watch though i wasn't cocksure about getting it initially, (luckily not a rolex), but the price is good. it is perfectly ok to walk away, only if u do it once to them. do this a few times,they will be pissed off....and u, no credibility liao the next time u step in. good luck to you!
and wif this, i will sign off. it's been great chatting and learning so much here...to all rollie owners here, enjoy `'em in good health. for those thinking about it, stop wastin time already. guarantee no regret one! if heaven grants me the pleasure of getting my gmt II in the near future, i will share my good loot wif u guys, maybe in the near future.
adios

Getting a BNIB Rolex Submariner TT from grey dealer
Hi .. paiseh to dig out this old thread.
Just need some impt info before taking the plunge to buy a Rolex Submariner TT half gold.
Will be getting it from a 2nd hand shop (quite ok review so far) which is BNIB and warranty undated. What should I look out for in this case? It is supposed to come in full box and cert .. what is the full content? e.g. manual .. extra link etc?
What is the dealer suppose to write in the warranty? As it is suppose to be current dated, the date will be the day I buy and paid in full cash.
In such instance, as the sale will be in full cash, will the shop issue a official receipt too (really a noob on this as getting the rolex from non local AD in this case).
Thanks in advance!Rolex Submariner 116613LN

I am not sure what you were promised (by the pre-owned shop staff/owner). Normally, the AD would provide the following for a brand new watch purchase locally:
- green wooden ROLEX box;
- white cardboard cover for the ROLEX box;
- warranty card (credit card) with date of purchase stamped/written;
- green plastic warranty card holder;
- watch bezel protector;
- small green cleaning (not polishing) cloth;
- watch manual (booklet);
- green tag; and (of course)
- the WATCH!
On the warranty card, the AD would normally write the name of the buyer (or a name the buyer wishes to state especially if it is a gift), the date (normally stamped), and sometimes, the buyer's address (I'd seen some cards with address written).
If it is a shop, yes, you should be issued with a receipt.
