Just wondering can we set the date reverse for rolex watches? Will it spoilt the mechanism?

i am only aware that rolex change dates at any time of the day without risking damage to the mechanism. as for reversing dates, no sure but like what darkie said, if it as to be done, make sure it's an isolated incident and not on repeated basis.

I mean..."if u say professionally" it's not right to reverse. But then to turn to 30 times is just waste time lor...for example date is 8 on watch, actual date is 9...just dun care la and reverse

i wouldn't do a date reverse. this is because the date advancement is a mechanism meant to go forward. it is also why, between 10 and 2, it is not advisable to change date. furthermore, there is the quick date set feature.

I don't think its a good idea to set the date in reverse order, just as is is not advisable to wind your watch counter-clockwise or change the date between 2100 hrs and 0300 hrs. I had read somewhere that this is when the mechanism in the watch is engaged for the process of date change and it may caused unneccessary wear to the mechanism if done repeatedly over time. I'm not definite on this but I would not take the risk..

Ya I know date cannot be set backward for submariner model. Meaning if you turn the crown anticlockwise nothing will happen. Just want to check on explorer2 and GMT2. But I finally got the answer from the manual which I normally don't even read it, for GMT2 and explorer2 date can be set forward or backward by turning the hour hand.

So no problem to set date backward. It will not spolit the mechanism.
