Some time ago, a dealer once told me (correct me if I am wrong)
Quote: "not to get a Pam if i am buying it as a investment because it command a poor resale value in this current market condition, but definitely a fantastic watch to buy for keep" UnQuote.

imho..i highly doubt that. cos subs are simply overflowing in supply..they're everywhere! it should hold a certain value, no doubt, cos there will always people looking for an affordable rolex such as a sub. but in terms of investment? furthermore, most of the rollies are quite similiar in terms of design, so i highly doubt that anyone will pay a premium for a sub. just my thoughts, to each his own.

If it is a sub reference 16610, honestly - I doubt they are very rare. They have been made for 19 years and by the time they are discontinued, it would have been 20 years. There must be like 100,000 or more pieces around.

IMHO I would do neither. I would trade in the 3-yr old sub for an older, rarer sub.

The Pam will probably be rarer in the longer term, assuming interest in the Pam holds up.
