  • Correct Method

Not sure this topic has been discussed before.
Which should be the correct method to start the STOP automatic watch.

A)Manually charge/wind the watch second hand and make sure it move first, follow by adjust the minute and hour hands

    Or

B)Adjust the minute and hour hands first follow by manually wind/charge the watch to make the second hand move.

    Thanks

Usually I will wind 35 times before I adjust the time.

And avoid using the quick date function if your current watch's time is between 9pm to 5am.

Either way is fine for automatic watch movements with hacking function. It's probably an individual preference. But do note that both cannot be applied to manual wind and non-hacking watches.

I never wind my Rolex gmt 2 for the past 10 years ... and it perfectly running well with actuate time .. normally I just give a light shake to “wake” it up , adjust the time and wear it ..that all .

I was told to apply option A by ex Rolex technician as I normally do option B.

i uses option B. I think the only thing that will affect the watch is when setting the date.
