How old were you when you got your first and subsequent rolex? Reply to Thread
Never thought I would ever own a Rolex; always think that it is an old-man's brand whenever seeing my parents wearing their diamond studded DJBut my parents never bought me any Rolex
So most of my watches are Tags (5 in total) and Cartier (for my wife) till early this year that out of a sudden telling myself "let's get a Rolex Sub!".
So within the same year (2008), I got myself a Sub. (M series) and a minty GMT II (pepsi) and the next one to come a Deepsea targeting by this year (2009). And I buy watches also mainly as investments and the old saying that buying a Rolex can never go wrong is very true. And ya, I'm 39 this year.

watches should not be bought for investment *IMHO*. it is a bonus if the watch you buy can reap rewards. buying a rolex can go wrong, take for example the turn-o-graph. initially it was a pretty hot item in sg, however, after couple of months, the demand drop.
also beginning of the year, a daytona @ AD might cost you in the region of 18k for a brand new piece. look @ the price now. u can get a white dial brand new from AD @ the region of 13k.
your money is better off buying blue chips where some of them give u dividend annually.
