  • Would you do this to test your rolex?

Either you are certified insane by the Institute of Mental Health or have too much money to spend. Thread taken from rolex forums.

I may try this when I strike toto. Until that happens, no way in hell I'm gonna try such a stunt.

    Enjoy!

well, I wear my GMT II for everything, outdoor activities for days and nights, such as hiking, running, swiming... No problems, the case is water and pressure tight.

After 10 years of wearing I decided to send it in to SRC for servicing... It is a kind of watch that others can not match. Hence, I trust only ROLEX for its build quality...

          SS Daytona Black Dial,
SS GMT II coke, SS GMT IIC, TT GMT IIC,
SS Sub Date, TT Sub Date Black,
          SS SD,
          SS YM,
          SS YM Mid Size,

i told the techie at RSC to try and make sure that since this watch is going to Oz that the parts have a oil coating that has a higher vicosity, but i was told that rolex oil = same, regardless of where you are going.

i only know that the explorer II has tested in extreme weather conditions and works fine. din know the sub can go through such experiences.

come to think about it, i think freezing the water will prove to be less a problem than leaving it in cold water (3 degrees).

Many of you here think that this guy is crazy by freezing his/her SUB...

but I think it is not an extreme test to his/her Rolex watch... the reason is I worn my rolex to the top of mountains for skiing many many times before (approx. external temp at ard -20degC) ... I believe the temp is not much of a difference when compared with freezing a rolex in a glass of ice water.
If you have studied chemistry b4, water freezes at Zero degC.... so the picture is not a big deal to me.... maybe because we are staying in a hot weather country... so freezing a Rolex is something crazy for us loh....

If someone can post a picture of someone (really insane) burning a Rolex with a fire touch.... then I will shout out loud: "CRAZY!!!"
