No such thing as Rolex=Uncle... I got my first rolex when I was 14... and I see many young film/TV stars also wear rolex... so I don't see why Rolex=Uncle...

There was a time I had the perception that people wearing Rolex belongs to the uncle category. As time passes by, the perception began to fade and now as Rolex keeps improving on its time pieces and marketing strategy, I would safely say that Rolex has improved its image.

So what do you guys think?

hmm... I think most of ppl who are in their 20s prefer PAMs... when they step into 30s they would have both PAM and rolex... when they step into 40s maybe all rolex liao... when they step into 50s they would have both rolex and patek... when they step into 60s maybe all patek liao....

Mine was given by my dad... I managed to buy my own rolex only when I pass 30s.... in my 20s need $$$ for many other things, marriage, house, kids...etc... so now a bit stable can buy my dream watch liao...

Good analogy..I tend to believe that it is easier on my pocket for collecting the Rolex...however I wouldn't mind to go for Patek if I can managed to unload some of the Rolex collection...I like the advertisement of patek.." You never actually own Patek, you are merely looking after it for the next generation"..That is good..provide my descendent don't sell it when I turned to ashes... ...

The good thing about buying a rolex (DD solid gold) if you are young is:-

1)you are telling people I can afford it; and

2)you can wear it for the next 20 to 30 years until you become an Uncle or ah pek in yours 50s to 60s and then carry on wearing for another decade or more till you drop dead..

I could only afford my daytona and my white gold DD in my thirties and I intend to wear them till I become an uncle... so I can't go wrong with this watch right haha!
