Definitely no for me. If is a uncle watch brand y so many ppl or younger generation start buying rolex? Even myself got my first rolex sub tt 1 week back. Got it bcos of the beauty n the value of the watch. Maybe too many ppl are being skeptical when they see the older generation wearing full gold diamond rollie so to them rolex are so called uncle brand.

Two tone, all gold and diamond Dayjust and Date-Day are uncle and those wearing them wants to make a statement telling everyone how rich and uncle they are.
All sport models in stainless are cool and representing a piece of Rolex history. None of the sport models are uncle. They are cool, trendy and functional.

A bit of my Lolek story:
I started out with the 16610 Sub Date because it was the Bond/Sean Connery watch. Fitted my wrist well but hated the hollow links and the tin-can clasp.
Sold that and got a 114060 Sub because the original Sub was no date. Loved the maxi-dial, ceramic bezel and glidelock clasp (an engineering marvel) but it was too chunky for my small wrists and it looked off in my long-sleeve shirts. Despite what everybody says, the Sub does not go too well with office wear - it's more like a make-shift look.
Got rid of that, bought a steel Datejust. Sat on my wrist like a dream, the white gold bezel scintillating like diamonds, the jubilee bracelet instantly recognisable five steps away. I then realised that the Datejust is THE Rolex.
An uncle watch? Perhaps the older models with the folded clasp and hollow links. The current generation DJ is chunkier and wears bigger than its 36mm. My dad wears a two-tone with champagne gold dial and stick markers (yes, the classic uncle combo) and it looks fantastic and modern and he looks like a million bucks.
The current Datejust is not an uncle watch - it is THE classic Rolex.

You gave up a real classic for a modern 114060, and then into a modern datejust.
What makes a datejust classic is the classic 36mm case of yesteryears and the "tin can" clasp which is actually very strong despite its look. The new datejust takes after the old one albeit improvements all round. It will be a classic in time to come but not just yet.
You are the new wave of Rolex wearers who mistake themselves as liking classics but are actually preferring modern instead.
Absolutely nothing wrong in that but just dont be confused into thinking otherwise.
By the way, whats next after selling your datejust 116234?
