  • Rolex Caseback Hologram Sticker

For the older Rolex models, has anyone's hologram sticker faded due to frequent wear till the hologram is no visible anymore? All that's left is the green reflective sticker.

I wonder if this can be used to verify the authenticity of a watch, if the hologram truly doesn't fade even through frequent wear.

hologram stickers will fade off eventually due to prolonged wear and skin contact over many years... imagine the sticker kenna sweat and dust and stuffs.. sure will fade off la..

this is not a very good or effective way of verifying the authenticity of a rolex watch.. simply because it's basically just a damn sticker and counterfitters have long used to replicate the hologram sticker.. and since nowadays the newer models don't come with that sticker the counterfitters don't use the sticker style copying i guess... but still there will always be cheaper knockoffs with stickers like that..

so i suggest you try other means to verify or simply get rsc to verify...

Though in the past the fake stickers can be easily identified, Rolex ceased using them a while back and so did the counterfakers ! Best is still your watchmaker or RSC (though I don't like them! )

Assuming a sticker is real, there are some dealers who use this as a mean to sell their Rolex pieces as unpolished. Of course it makes sense that a polished watch should not have that sticker still on, still relying on your experience still rules the day !

Who knows, they could have removed it before polishing or simply bought one somewhere and pasted it on
