    hi,
I have a 16610. I don't wear it during the weekend. So on Monday mornings, I would adjust the date, time then shakes it to resume movement. Is this the right way? Do we have to do manual winding after the shake?

    thanks.

i notice other than my ball watches, the rest of my automatic watch wind le also wont auto move de. Have to lightly shake it then the second hand will start to move.

dunno if its normal also...but as long don shake too hard (and long) should be ok bah
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........

Ya, shake too hard and long later all the watch movement parts come out, ha ha ha.

But seriously, after winding ( maybe 10 or 20 turns ), the watch should start moving, i dont have to shake after winding to get my watch started.
maybe u can try and see if it is true.

        hi,
thanks for the replies. I know the second hand will move after after turning 10 to 20 turns. My question is : since the second hand moves after shaking (slightly), is there a need to make any turns at all?

            1) Never tried sub before but thing shld be the same with all watches bah. Just unscrew and turn it clockwise

            2) nope, manual winding is not undesirable (unlesss you do it like every min every hour and each time 20-50 turns.) then, the main thing u need to worry is the crown track getting rounded

it is strongly advised against 'shaking' the watch. the rotor rotates around its centre of fulcrum. as such, hold the watch between ur fore finger and thumb with the thumb nail facing you. rotate your wrist in a short clockwise movement, this will give some inertia to the rotor to get it to start moving. once it is in motion, put on your wirst. keep the watch on your wrist for the rest of the day, it should 'charge' your watch up for at least 24 hours.

                  winding

to avoid winding, try wearing your watch when you exercise. just be careful to avoid scratches. I wear my speedy and sub whenever i exercise with my dumbells. any comments on this?

I am different. I don't wear my watch when excercising... reason? 1) sure gonna scratches, 2) you sweat, you smell, your watch also smell, 3) there is a clock in the gym, 4) dumbells already heavy, wear a rolex lagi heavy

How abt getting a watch winder? Shd be able to avoid the hassle of doing the manual winding...for myself, have been looking for a suitable one....cos i dun wear my watch all the time and am afraid that "numerous" times of winding will spoil the watch...heart will sure ache then...ha ha
