cannot import Rolex into the USA

  • cannot import Rolex into the USA

    I found out the below info in another forum.

    If you have a brand new rolex, still in its box with papers etc and you try to bring it across the USA customs, the officer will confisticate it

    They say its best to wear it on your wrist when you enter the USA and also mail the box into the USA.

    wah!!!! so jiat lat ar?

                  but, prices in USA are quite competitive sometimes, esp with the weak USD

                    Import ROlex into USA

                    That is true from my research. It has something to do with branding and maintaining a differential market.

                    Basically, USA Rolex can have all your Rolex you have on you confiscated even if ther are real! If they are fakes, the watches get confiscated AND you have to pay retail price for each and every fake watch you have on you.

                    The only exception is that if you bring 1 in, then the customs will likely overlook it.

                    The same applies when you sell to USA.

                    But buying from USA is fine. You can leave USA airports with your suitcase full of Oysters, Day-Dates, Subs and Cellinis and they won't care. The muggers, on the other hand......
