I was stunned by her comment.
Why stunned, my friend?
She is not quite wrong. Rolex is known as a favourite for man in the street.
It is therefore the most common "luxury" watch in the market.
Thats probably what she meant.
However, she probably is no watch guru either, that i can bet on.

Getting a Rolex is not like stock investing...

Also, Rolex is the most demanded watch in town and most produced too so I assume you will never get one?

Hmm, don't mind people wearing the same watch but realised their new model releases year after year are +/- 2mm, change colour of bezel, change dial colour and change to expensive gold or plat for anniversary models, so I guess its reasonable to be bored of them.
Personally I do like the Day-dates and Daytona, but seems like all good looking new releases are the over 30k gold watches, and such prices are stepping into the PP/AP/VC/JLC range so unless one is really concerned about losing less money compared to buying other watches, lots of other choices for rolex price.

Its about liking what it stands for , the durability, wearability etc etc....
however in a materialistic society of ours today, the price has become the barometer.
So beware how we get influenced and how we make our judgement.
Likewise, how we get offended.
Take it easy and enjoy the simpler things

Yah, one can complain they're have changed too much over the year to lay claim to this honor but IMHO, they've done well in this respect.
How about switching to vintage Rolexes for a change??

A millionaire who wear casio can act humble. A coffee-shop uncle with Rolex could be worn with love given from a filial son or with his hard earn money. It's their pride on their purchase, you have no right to bash them with trash talk. And i think a millionaire also don't need your fake respect.
Absolutely. We should respect everyone whether they wear a watch or not!
