If its like this, then I most prob will go for the SD as it may be quite irritating to adjust this when I don wear it for long periods, as well as during short months
11670LN doesn't have quick set date function?? Really?

Have to turn to 8pm and then to 12am again and again to change the date?

see this review on youtube for the GMT2c

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGYiVXjo4vk

seems like to click the date, you needto make the hour hand go pass midnight, etc....quite troublesome leh wouldnt it? imagine feb 28, means u need to wind dunno how many times just to hit 1st?

I done some reading, the new GMT Master 2 does not come with a quick date function. However, there is a semi-quick date function.

You can change the date by turning the hour hand independently every 24hr, this is much faster comparing to turning the minute hand.

If this is a BIG BIG problem to you, then don't get this one.

116520 is recommending you to get the 16700 because the other model of the GMT master has the quick-set function for the date.

Rolexes are very subjective in terms of looks, design and functions. You don't travel much and you don't dive as mentioned when you started this thread. You just want a Rolex! So can I assume you are using it either as a jewelry or a fashion accessory? If this is true, then the function doesn't really matters anyway.

If this no quick-set date is bothering you now. Trust me, you will keep complaining about if you get it. If you are buying the 11670LN, then you have to accept the disability of this function.

On the other hand, can I know why did you choose the SD? If you are not using the diving function, why don't you get a Sub? Does the magnifying feature bother as well?

Which one you prefer now? Your preferred choice is usually the one you will buy i think.

My vote goes to the GMT Master II Ceramic by the way.

I do not think a BNIB at AD will cost lesser than 8k anytime later.. If will go up to 5% off list like all other sports model. To have it at more than 15% is unlikely in my own opinion.

You can try pre-owned. I saw one without box and paper at 7.5k early this year. Sold off already. Keep a look out for one.

Personally, I have a 16710LN. I juZ took it out to wear after more than a month. Had to make 15date rotation but I didn't findit a chore at all. I guess if u love it, u wun think that is a problem but if dun like it as much, the slightest difference would make a huge difference.

the ceramic bezel is purportedly scratch resistant but a chap from the US rolex forum managed to crack it or sumtin like that. no sure how much the replacement costed him though. daily wear is definitely ok but be informed that the bracelet has polished centred links which can attract hairline scratches like a magnet so if signs of wear is a potential cause of insomnia, go for the brushed steel in SD.

It cost I think 1k+ to change the bezel

hmm actually the scratches on bracelets don really bother me. i find it adds character to the watch keke...

heres a link to someone who brushed his gmt2c bling bling bracelet. looks cool imo

                              http://www.minus4plus6.com/116710.htm#brushed

ya a bit worried abt the bezel. I knw for sure ig i were to buy it, it is gg no where near the pool or beach for that matter. I wont even wear it to exercise. Mainly just to work and weekends...hopefully the bezel can withstand that.

to pay 1.5kUSD to fix it is really crazy ....a major minus here....

Go for the GMT II C its more worth while considering the price and looks.

Hee for me, there are just too many black rollies out there. So am waiting for the ceremic Pepsi or coke kekekeke
