How to read the Rolex Series?

I have been trying to find information on how to read the rolex series.

Does anyone have a link or place where I can look up? I have been seeing quite a bit of alphabet series of Rolexes for sale in this forum. However, I could never fathom how to interpet and find out what the alphabets mean

little guidance to start me on my way would really be appreciated

In the meantime, I am flipping this forum inside out to search for more Rolex information.

wow how did you get the chart?

if thats the case, how come got people selling M series seadweller we it is not even on the chart?

V series is the latest they have now = late 08-09

You can do a reverse calculation to know which year the watch is made. Got it?

rolex uses alphabet, since there are only 26 alphabet...will rolex run out of alphabet? will they use double alphabet?

i think they already use 19 alphabet liao.....so means left with 7......on average is like 2 years 1 alphabet.....

so in ~14 years, they would need new alphabet....

unless the increase the serial number to like 8 digit

Actually they have less alphabets left than 7. Doubt they will will use "O" and "I", maybe even "Q" might be a question mark too.

At the rate they were producing...I think it's more like 1 alphabet per year...

But likely that they will cut down on production coz of recession. I think they will use double lettering...
