I was thinking will it be cheaper to get a GMT2 in Malaysia with the current strong Spore Dollar and will there be any "tax" refund or something like that?

Yes, it should be cheaper consider their weakened currency. And they have no consumer tax so there is no VAT refund. However, your purchase will be subjected to GST charges by the Singapore customs when you return to Singapore.

Their prices are pretty similar to some dealers here. Check out Berjaya Times Square's top floor. There are a few shops there selling pre-owned watches, esp Pa Ree. An honest boss.
