  • Locking the Crown of Sports Rolex

I have been asking several people including the RSC on how much should I turn when locking the crown.

Some say stop when you feel the resistance but the RSC advises to turn them till you cannot turn anymore. Meaning to lock them maximum to the oyster.

Any gurus out there on this issue?

" Some say stop when you feel the resistance but the RSC advises to turn them till you cannot turn anymore. "

    Is there a difference?

Turn untill it is water resistant

If you feel more 'secure' turning it until your hand cannot turn anymore, then that is it.

The watch is made so nicely that you can only turn that much right? To be able to turn until it break is a task as well...

              Practice make perfect.

'finger tight' is very subjective, it different from person to person. one thing for sure that you will be an expert if you ever broke a crown or letting watch sipping into the watch.

                well subjectively it works.....

unless one's fingers are capable of massive torque.....

Subjectively of finger tightness and pressure are different from watches to watches, person to person. Again, no 2 watches are the same due to its construction and maintenance, that's why some of us broke the crown may be with the assumption that all watches are the same.

Feel the tightness is something to master as there isn't any gauge to tell the tightness.

then too bad if one's subjectivity borders near to absurdity ....
