After all i think most important is how the buyer feels/thinks.
Quote my own example, i was offered RM28000 from a Malaysian AD (East Peninsula) for 116610LV but i still choose to get in from SG AD at SGD12800, difference of around SGD1400, considering the trouble of 8-9 hours driving to fetch the watch (although authentication is not necessary in this case).
As for the TS, he feels more comfortable to buy from local AD for his first Rolex, then I think he should go ahead. No point saving and feel regretful after that.
Anyway, hope the TS is enjoying his first Rolex!

While trying to absord the discussing, something came to my mind...

For current AN series, which still unable to decipher, a AN series watch left AD on say Oct 2011 n selling BNIB dated Dec 2013 will be scary if the registering part is true-this watch warranty is out...

Having say tat, chances will be slim for such case thou...

But if you change the 2011 to 2014 yourself and it can be spotted by them, than warranty will be voided.
As such, do not temper with the date.
          Understand...

Have done authentication with buyer(im seller) at rsc... but nv exprience verifying of date...

Meaning we can verify date of warranty as well? TIA for sharing...

Actually it depends, for me, I prefer buying from local AD as I am comfortable with my SE and he is able to give me some pretty good deals. Coupled with cash rebates from credit cards, so price not much of a diff than buying from grey mkt unless the model I want is not available locally. And lastly, it saves me the hassle of going to draw cash and verification at RSC.

unlikely as AD might stock up too. and there is no registering system for rolex. Another fact is Rolex serves you so well that it is unlikely you will need to touch your warrenty card for the next 2 years for rolex OEM defects.

Yes, agree to AD might stock up... n if I have a official receipt from AD, and it happens tat I lost my warranty card, Im quite sure that the AD official receipt will helps...

Will u be given a official receipt from grey dealer?

And... Agree with the reliability of Rolex.... Ive a GMT pepsi bought in 1993, And for 20 years nv been service n its still running...

But thats not the discussion on how reliable a Rolex is...

Lastly.... would appreciate if u can share about theres no registering system for rolex. If wat u meant is true, meaning authenticate the date is impossible(tat is to say bro larry n maxxam stating of verifying date is almost impossible?)

U know what? There are too many scenarios too many ifs. And if u want fool proof then buy from ad. Alternately buy from grey dealers with reputation and have the cert authenticated. That's as much as u can do.
                      Understand n agree...

Then it will voice down to how attractive the price from grey dealer...

For example the DSSD, it will be more than $2000 saving which is very attractive...
