hmm... for daytona, i'm not really expecting a discount of the rrp... but so long as i pay less premium for it, it will be a bonus.. .
Hope i can find it there at an attractive price...
all lao jiao and expert who have been to Switzerland, pls do share your experience... It is good to hear more to manage my expectation a little, else will be very disappointed after the trip...

I was in switzerland last year Sept. Checked out Rolex in Zurick, interlaken and Zermate. I check all the difference branches and the conclusion i get is. After taking into consideration exchange rate, and rebate on tax(if i rem correctly) at that time, its not worth to buy there. Singapore is selling it cheaper. Ang mos will not sell u at premium, but they will ask u to wait 5 years
One of my fren saw a daytona there and was quoted sg11k for it. maybe u can wait to go over to check it out! i regretted not buying ever since...
Since u r planning to pay sg17k for it, y not wait till y get there and look see look see...
So, i would suggest u to wait unless u r desperate to part with ur money...
that is the thing abt daytonas. Most place u go on earth will quote u the RRP. i ask in Korea, maccau, switzerland, and singapore. but when u wanna buy they tell u waiting list. Switzerland told me 5 years. So when i went hong knog the same thing happen, quoted RRP but say no stock. i chit chat wif them, then quote them a price i willing to pay. I said $85k they straight bring out a White face daytona. HAhaha suddenly have liao. I turned them down as i was looking for a SS black face.
There u go. Quote is 1 matter, and if they sell is 1 matter.
Just saw a white one in Korea airport selling at US$9600. No discount. I think it is at list. This is the first time I have seen one on display. Good luck on your quest!

And did you buy?

Well..no. I was rushing and I can not justify buying another watch. The sales girl was very friendly. Offered to show me the daytona right away after my quires. No such luck in the city. Most are not big talkers but maybe it's because I can speak the language. Thanks for asking Darkangel.
Yes, there can be some good deals in the korean airport, especially when exchange rate is in our favour and they offer discounts. I bought a Canon G10 at about S$540 there (after discount) when it was still costing S$799 here. Some of my friends grabbed a couple of 5D MkII as well. Can;t wait to go there to check out the watches too.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be going to Seoul in Oct and am eyeing the Canon 500D. Any idea how much it costs and did you buy your G10 on arrival or departure? I'm guessing it would be departure.
I bought my G10 in Singapore last month at S$690. But your $540 still takes the medal!
Buying a Rolex overseas is different from buying a camera or other stuff that come with warranty. Buying a camera from overasea, no warranty given by the local agent. In Singapore, you can also opt for an export set that no warranty given. For G10, it is about $100 cheaper than the local set with warranty.
Rolex watches get international warranty.
