I only wear my rolex when I wear long sleeve shirts. This helps one to be discrete ... and also offeres the watch a little protection.

Seriously... maybe you can consider one of those "look alike" as opposed to fake watches ... like Invicta and Sandoz.

So even if kena held up ... the rober will see its a look-alike and not even a fake... really no point.

The Invicta 8926 (?) is regarded as a good value look-alike. Or the more expensive 9937.

And there is also Bulova GMT although available with mineral crystal. Sandoz sub and explorer uses sapphire and ETA movement. Great value considering these combinations. The HK version explorer rather .

I was in a ulu Katong SC toilet sometime back, at the urinal doing my business, and these two firece looking Ah Beng came and do their business, one on each side. Now these old bloody urinal don't have partition, so I am holding my brother and you know Rolex SS is quite large n shining, and one of them kept looking at it. I was hoping he was pervert looking at my ahem, brother but I could tell that he was looking at my watch so i got quite scared cause after he finish he went over to his friend and say something and they both keep looking at me from the side of their eyes and wash their hands slowly at the sink.

Lucky, a Father and his small son came into the toilet and so I quickly siam from there. I am short and small size so I would probably be no problem to bash and steal from.

Dunno lah, maybe I am paranoid because SS Rolex not worth to steal... But have any of you felt a little afraid to use your Rolex, especially Gold or diamond model?

wearing bling bling Rollies, I think such risks exist everywhere. It can occur anytime. At clubs, and especially in the washrooms in the wee hours of the morning, I cannot help the feeling that folks around me are eyeing that Bling on my wrist. Someone told me before that if I want to wear it, I must get ready for it to be taken away. Its a choice. Once, while waiting at a driveway for a friend in JB, a bad ass (going by his appearance) came up and commented that I've got a nice watch. Its not uncommon for people to chat outside these clubs. But I get the feeling that something's not right, as he was constantly looking around and he refuses to leave. Seems to me he is planning his strike. (Now they don't ask you if you want a jab of his knife or to give him the watch. It takes too much time and they don't want to risk you putting up a fight. They knock you out or slash you to intimidate you before stripping the watch away from you.)

So I asked him if he wants a closer look as it is too dark. Pulled out a two feet metal Maglight and shine at the watch, its like telling him to choose the watch or that heavy light in his face. Don't know if I did the right thing but if I'm gonna wear that watch, I'm gonna make sure it stays on my wrist the best way I know how. Its a choice. Great I'm still alive to enjoy my watch.

Anyone with similar close call?
