Buying a Rolex in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur

There's no sales tax in kl, so no tax refunds to talk about.

Try the starhill mall near jw marriot. There are also a couple of ADs at the bt bintang area.

For discount, got to ask direct. Prices are competitive compared to sg.

Already checked, retail prices are same all over the world. Discount normally 10%, 12% to 15% if you meet a nice guy. With me, buying in Singapore is cheaper with 6% tax refund.

AD in MY sounds like the same old companies we have in SG..

Dun think you can a good deal in MY. Tried before but the price about the same after all those credit card fees.

Go and enquire with an open mind. Luxury taxes on watches has been abolished recently and prices of several pieces i asked (not just rolex)are better than sg.

As for safety, just follow the usual safety precautions as a tourist. Some european cities have alarming crime rates against tourists as well.

Now just after election, my advice is still not to go there to buy such luxury goods.
