    depreciation ,looks

The new blk bay will depreciate faster then a used Exp 2. My guess we may see old blk bays stabliise just above the 3K mark next year, 2014. A newer exp 2 will stabilise at between 4.5 to 5K. The exp 2 movement (3186) found in the M & V series is very good, far superior to the eta in a blk bay. Buy the blk bay if you like the feel of being the first owner and its looks = or buy the Exp 2 and own a solid dependable watch. Btw, Exp2 has two time zones, great for travel and overseas work.

Buy both then. My vote for Tudor Black Bay.

Like most comments here, if this is your first Rolex, then get the Rolex first (budget permitting)

While Black Bay is a dive watch, the Explorer 2 is a dual time zone.

Ever considered a 14060? it's a closer comparo to the Black Bay (both being dive watches). You may find pre-own pieces starting from $4k+ onwards too.

This would be my second. I got a DJ.

I'm basically going for looks and affordability here. Bang for buck. Lol.

Nope I don't want to get the Submariner. It's a great watch and I know it's Rolex icon but it's just too common. Every one has got one.

I think you are looking for a watch which could be an investment. I think the Exp 2 is a better choice, because Rolex has a better resale value. So go for the Exp 2 rather than the Tudor Black Bay.

Given the above considerations, i'll go for a "t-dial" 16570 with nice patina and matching hands. White or black dial wld just be as nice and exquisite. Good luck on your search!
