  • Manual Date Set?

    I found this on another watch forum:

    "gears that move the date wheel begin to move around 9 PM and finish around 3 AM, manually setting the date between these hours can un-synchronize the gear train"

    originator of the post had his new watch changes date at 8AM!

    how true is that statement? does it applies to Rolex too?

    no it does not apply to rolex, as i recalled a post stating that the gears for date are "independent" of time. therefore cannot "confuse" the date.

      Most modern watches are no longer design this way. The last time I saw the un-sync happen was on a 30+yrs old swiss watch (not rolex).
