Went on last friday around 4-5pm and they said cannot do verification..... Was fuming as made the trip down.
Heard rumours that they might stop this service as it affects the sale of their ad. Dunno how true. But I suppose such service will always be required for 2nd hand watches and not just parallel imports BNIB.
So maybe raising by 33% is to deter people from the service?
what model of watch was verified? some people have claimed that sports models cost more for verification.
An SD (V Series). It's new and all but it's just something I have to do when dealing with a private transaction. No offence to the seller. Great seller BTW

Think we will soon see some threads on "Lobang for cheap verification of rolex watches @ $XX"...
"Lobang for cheap verification of rolex watches... with SMILING and FRIENDLY customer service counter officers!" Bloody monopolisers! I was in the queue to pick up my watch (~1pm) and overhead the staff turning away a couple of customers who wanted to do authentications. "We are too busy to do authentications now, please come back tomorrow..."
Anyway, I was advised the authentication process was to take 3-4 hours! Some "new procedure" the technicians had to follow. But in fact it took slightly under an hour.
RSC should entertain authentication requests if you are there before 11am. Overall experience was not too pleasant.
