Crown on Chapter Ring is off!

Hi all, the crown on my Sub LV's chapter ring is slightly (i mean slightly) off to the left. I mean the 12 marker should be exactly at the middle or middle matchstick of the crown right, but mine isn't.

      Haha is this normal?

There is always flaw on every watch. Live with it. In fact such imperfections make your watch unique. My sub's black dial has a little bubble.

sorry..if you pay few Ks for a watch and settle for their flaws.....i don't buy it! we've every right to expect perfection from the manufacturer and product. bring it back to change.

im with wolfeyes on this. if you deem something to not be right, go back and see what they say. dont settle for second best.

even a monitor i bought for A$800; the color was out; i called up the manufacturer, and got a replacement the next working day

Go to RSC and see what they can and should do. Let us know if there's any result. Wish you luck.

I'll be keeping a close watch on this thread...
We paid good money for this & should expect good quailty stuff...
The price increases every year should enable & ensure better quailty control...
                  Go for your right...
                  We deserve better...

This is just not acceptable after paying so much money for it. Bring it back to RSC and demand them to do something about it!

Come to think of it, if this is one of the rare piece with a slight 'defect', will it ever become a collector's piece .. . I recalled reading some watch models that was not perfectly produced and later became precious or something.

haha,,,,, this is a dilemma no doubt,,,,,

it could become a collector's item or

the buyer could be a laughing stock if people question him on paying so much for a defective watch.

maybe should keep the watch in safe for a long time till it becomes a collector's item,,,,,,,,,,,,

The decision is yours bro..to keep it for the price to Soar or send it for reviews..
                            my greenie is ok.
If i could remember correctly, my friend told me early batch of Exp2 has a slight fault..where the dial change color during production...instead of white became deep creamy color...
and now it seems to be a collectors piece..

                            Explorer II Ref: 16550

Found out this and it explained the watch..
The cream dial occurred because there was a faulty batch of paint at the dial manufacture.
They were meant to be white.
Over time they went into cream colour - a lot of people got the dials swapped (service / thought it was discoloured etc) and so very few remain in the wild.
Which is why they are so collectable now.
Also known as an "Ivory Dial Explorer".

                            Just to share, cheers!
