if this is the case, based on 2nd pic, then the first pic should be 6 links instead of 5 right?

Eh? I think you have 'double-counted' le
First pic should be showing the front side of the bracelet facing you, so it is definitely 5 links (include the half link). Second pic also clearly shows the front side of the bracelet with 6 links. You have counted the same side of the bracelet front and back
