    14060 polish and service

    i have decided to take a leap of faith by going to a brand new watch technician. why?

    i brought this watch to RSC and ask for a service quote. the price is more than 1000 + change of parts. a price that made me lost my balance on the spot. why? comparing with one of the cheapest service is like 1000 difference. compared to the most expensive outside RSC being quoted by this new watch technician is probably a whopping 3 times more that RSC is charging me.

    so i took a leap of faith and venture into uncharted waters. this watch technician is untested by me. according to sources, this technician is a ex rolex technician.

      accumulated dried grease on the mainspring and a chunk of it on the barrel

      this is what happens you do not know what has been done when send in to any watch technician for service or too long never service which can cause grease to dry up.

              at this stage, i can say the technician is giving the watch movement a full complete cleaning service.

              next stage is the assembly, oiling.

              so far so good. will update once i get more pictures.

                              no idea as the previous owner said no and the previous' previous owner not sure.

                              but judging from the condition, i would say easily more than 2-3 years without service. why? normal servicing usually last about 2-3 years on average.
