  • Newbie here - which to buy?

    Hi all,

Newbie here. Am thinking of buying a rolex as a 1st time owner.

Cant decide between the half yellow gold, black dial w 10 diamond markers vs the half yellow gold, onyx dial w 2 diamond markers (at 6 and 9 oclock position).

Haven't been able to find much info on the onyx. Is the onyx more unpopular in SG and will resale value be lower?

    Thanks!

Is there an obvious differece look wise between a normal black dial and a onyx dial? If the onyx dial costs a premium then I think it would not be very popular which maybe explain why it is rare? 10 diamonds is also more popular than 2 diamonds. But...if you are talking about men's rolex, any model with diamonds generally move slower in the resale market, if this is a concern to you.

Very useful info for noobs like me. But would it be the reverse for lady Dj? ie, with diamond more popular in the resale market? And what about diamond with MOP?

      Thanks for sharing!
