Let's not just confine to JW, else instead of sharing infos to all here ,i will be deem affiliated to him....
How about the Chuan watch? many postings here with nice watches to sell.
Sin Lian Pawn ? the first pawn shop in Singapore who is willing to take in at reasonable price any other brands besides Rolexes only .
Passions ? the first watch dealer to make it big in Singapore and oversea markets?
How about Mr Lim now pp park formerly from Golden landmark, he charges very very reasonable rates for watch repairs? I see it with my own eyes how he dismantle watches and fixed it back in less than 15 minutes, i will take one full day plus damage the watch...haha
Lastly ACE-TIME ? many stocks of high end watches ? dealings with super clients. Andrew a nice guy with great knowleges in watches.

Watchpassionatist,
Yours post is certainly helpful. If independent can do almost full service like SC including using original parts at a reasonable price compared to the SC( yes, the bloody XXXXXX XXXXX RSC which charge minimum 700plus for repair and overhaul of rolex). Then it is good recommendation. Most people are usually budget conscious so will to go third party. Some also too damn skeptic to conclude that you related to the shop. Everyone has his days, people are not at their best all the time so do not expect error free repair. So whether you send watch to SC or third party, you run risk of watch being accidentally scratch and etc. If you are not happy just ask them to redo or polish and etc. Once again, watchpassionist, tks for yr post.sigpic

with regards to your above-mentioned thread... the risks of talking about bad "service" may not always be an objective one.
this is a public forum and everyone must be mindful that decorum aside, there are legal consequences to shooting off exaggerated claims (which, for singaporeans, tend to be typical behavior).
i went out on a limb when i spoke about my experience with JW - that it was MY opinion i was overcharged.
on hindsight, i should have not spoken about it in detail and simply advised people to ask about price, no matter how simple you may think a "job" might be, BEFORE committing to the work or handing your watch over.
as an aside: servicing a datejust at top hour is 300+. servicing a daydate is half that price at a shop that used to be located in golden landmark. i think reputation usually comes at a price...“Watches, no matter how much they cost, are better at telling time than making a person happy.†- Thomas J. Yes taxico, we got to be mindful as this is a open forum. With the official sending lawyer letters to any opposition who say bad things about them and sued them until they either pay a hefty fine or go jail, we got to be careful with our words. Too careless of me to use mxxxer idxxt outright, thought I was thinking more like moxxer fxxkxx to describe the SC. Thanks the moderator for looking out for me. Old habit can't change.
As we "moved" into the connected virtue world where Inc start engaging social media, they should be open to critic and not behave like the "guardian" of the island I live in where lawyer letters are frequently send out when they don't like what they hear. If the company cannot take the heat, then don't use social media. Also thanks you for your frank comment on your servicing experience. Always good to hear from different perspectives.sigpic

My is recommendation is Brightime aka www.championtime.com.
Rating maybe +1.
Brought extra rolex link from them at half the price RSC quote me in Feb11. My friend brought BNIB submariner LV from them at ~SG7k late last year. They quoted me 18% LESS for air-king when AD quote me max of 15% LESS in Jan11. They even offered to bring in the air-king model(taiwan flag colour concentric dial) which was phase out recently and almost out of stock in most AD (Though I ended up buying from Sincere as this watch is for my senior, not me.). I also seen many people buying, selling and repaired swiss watch there. The people there even told me that they can repair touby! With regards to that claims, I just listen only.
Well, just for record, I work as tech in local uni.sigpic

for links, it is hard to say it is new or pre-own. even buy from RSC, we take it as it is brand new. cause they not allowed to sell used parts.
if it new, how they get their hands on one. im curious.
also curious to know if the pieces they are selling are brand new? if it is, is it local or overseas set. cause it will make a difference.
