its not true but to certain extent. SD can in fact can sustain the so call sauna humidity, heat etc. or else it wont be call a tool watch. there are people say you cant go sauna wearing rolex coz the gasket in the crown will expand which causes water to go in. but hey, the gasket was supposely act as the same gasket as the submarine and was patented serveral years ago. SD has gone thru many extreme conditions of weather and punishment with no problem or else it wont be call a rolex watch.
conversely, if i do own an SD, i wouldn't wear rolex to sauna. its too expensive to bring it in. heartpain. haha. my 2 cents. =D
what im thinking of is that in sauna, it is hot and would the bracelet get too hot and for comfort of the skin?
not sure you want to go to sauna with watch as mentioned by Triton. having said that, i think should be ok ie. no damage done. afterall, imagine you driving in the car, at 50degree heat and even with aircon running, it is hot as hell. not quite as steamy as sauna, but very hot.

Actually what I heard is not the humidity and heat in the sauna room that cause the problem. The main problem is the sudden change in temperature and condition when you get out of the sauna room that cause water to enter the watch. Do you think this theory make any sense?
It's the condensation of the on the inner glass surface of the watch which would cause problems after exposing to sudden changes in temperature . When the watch is in the hot environment the temp of the air in the watch would also go up . But when we step out into room temp the cold air on the outer surface of the watch would cause condensation in the inner surface of the watch due to difference in temp between the outer and inner air . That's why sinn used argon gas in some of the models for solving this and some other problems .

There's study done by IWC (cannot find the thread), playing golf is the worst enemy for automatic watches. But it doesn't mean it will definetely damage your watch, but the risk is higher. I think sauna should be ok, but usually in the sauna they have a big clock to tell you the time
