  • How often do you service your rolex?

    Hi All

Just got my new EXP II.
Was wondering how often do i need to service the watch?
    Is it a periodic thingy?
Is it free to send to RSC if my watch is under warranty?

  • #2
5-6 years depending..brought my 5 years old tudor to RSC and they open up the casing..was told that the movement is very clean and no servicing required..

within the first 3 years is ok not to sent in for servicing.

after that, some say send in 4-5th year. some say wear until break down.

there is no hard and fast rules. depending on which u prefer.

Since you bought it new, your watch will be given 2 years warranty. Hence, its best to send it in before the warranty expires. After this, you can service every 6-7 years. Enjoy your new purchase bro!!! Exp II is my next target..

I guess what schumi means is that send in the watch before the warranty so that any parts that needs to be replace RSC should has to obsord the cost. Becasue it is still under warranty.

On the othe hand, you have to pay for the servicing cost.

                  Cheers,

                    true...

i think every 5/6yrs is reasonable lah... if u find the svc cost too high, think abt the service cost divided over the 5 yr period... $70 per yr not that sim tia rite??

Alternatively, set up a watch fund account and start pumping in money gradually over the years. If got enuf money, u can probably buy a ROLEX watch every 2-3 yrs..

warranty means to cover manufacturing fault...... nothing to do with wear and tear

Is it consider manufacturing fault if parts wear or tear within the warranty period?

I strongly believed that all rolex parts should be able to larges for decade if not at least longer than the warranty.

If it's going to wear or tear so fast...then I probably think of otherwise.

                            Cheerio,

parts wear and tear within warranty period does not mean manufacturing fault.

                              manufacturing fault can be

                              1) calibration - out of COSC specifications
                              2) bezel coming off
                              3) hands fall out of axis
                              4) loose pin @ the lugs

                              the list goes on.

if parts do not suffer wear and tear, then service centre dont need to make money liao. wear and tear under normal usage is ok but not extreme condition.
