HI All,
Cld some one advise on the above for mechanical watches? 2 versions I have heard
ver 1)A watch mechanic told me not to use the quick-set function to set the date bt the said time; its ok if you use the min hand go round for the date change. Is tt correct?
ver 2) You cant even use the min hand to change the date; u hv to power up the watch, let it pass 3 am before you use the min/quick set hand to set the correct date.
My Qs :-
1) If watch stops at 10 pm, its 5 am and u need to set correct time(hence date as well), can u use the min hand - ie ver1) is correct?
2) If you watch stops outside the said time, eg 7 pm, does that mean that u can use quick set/min hand to set the date? i dun understand, at 7pm u still need to cross 10-12 pm to set the date. if u stop at 10pm (a split second pit stop rest for your fingers) while winding the crown, wldnt it be akin to changing the date within the no-go time period?
thanks for all your advice and clarifications.
