  • GMT2 power reserve

Hi all the Rolex Gurus here.
Wanna check with u guys, how long or how many days can the power reserve last for a gmt2c v series?

My seems to be running out far too fast, aft a day out with my watch, it can only last another 1 and half day on its on.
    is this normal?
*any way I dun use a winder.

    Thank in advance!

48-49 hrs? Thats long! Much longer then my!

how do you determine fully wind up or not?
I wear it for a good 6hrs, at times longer.
Is that consider fully winding it?

      Thanks for your advice!

What I did is to handwind (abt 30 full turn to the crown) the watch and let it run. Check back 2 days later and and see where it stop.

Note: try not to touch the watch during the 2 days.

it differs from individuals de. for example like me, I wear my GMTIIc for 8-10 hours a day. but my wrist is locked for at least 8 hours cos typing non stop.

at the end of the day, my watch can tahan about 36-38 hours (about 1.5 days loh.)

BUT on weekends when I go breakfast, window shopping, marketing, etc, wear less than 8 hours the power reserve can last for almost 42 hours.

Hence, depends on how you wank...i mean move your wrist
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........

I mean on a average, if u wear for 8hrs it shd be fully wind up...

If u wan to check whether the watch is fully wind up, just unscrew the crown. N try to wind it, if u feel there is resistant then it is already been fully wind up... Hope this helps.

not really true. the winding comes from the movement of your wrist causing the rotor to turn and hence winding the watch.

If you are watching 2 movies for example and during the show, your wrist hardly moves, in 4 hours time, would your watch be almost fully wind and if you remove it and put on the table, should it be able to sustain 40 hours?

Its like the when you put it on the table and the rotor doesnt get to do its job, you cant expect it to be wound. thats why watchwinders turn. the turning movest the rotor so as to wind the watch.

Ur wrist do move to take popcorn n put it in ur mouth. Doing that for 4hrs, ur watch shd be wind up half way. After movie go walk walk for 2 hrs. shd be full.

LOL thanks for agreeing with me that its the amount of wrist movement that determines how much 'power' your watch can build up and not the number of hours wound on the wrist.

In your example above, 6 hours seems suffice as compared your earlier mention of 8 hours, as long as there is sufficient wrist movement.
