Anyway attached is the pic of the two watches, i am more interested in the black face rolex but it seems the strap is kinda of warpped and needs to be changed , the glass on the watch also kanna stretched and needs to be changed and the movement like shake a few times move a bit only. Wonder is it wise to do a repair as i believe it would cause a bomb....

Judging from your description, I think the watch needs a complete overhaul. From the pic, it seems that the condition of the affected watch is really quite bad. Don't think it can tell accurate time anymore. So if you are keen to wear it, then you may want to send it for service/repair. And you're right. It's sure going to cost.

Depends on how extensive are the works done. I would think it will cost close to 1.5K. Think the bracelet is BER liao and the bracelet alone will probably account for half of the total cost

Thanks for the reply... Hmm wonder whats the next best option? Lelong it away and get some cash? i guess maybe can live with the strap but over hual how much would it roughly cost?

Btw wondering how much the gold rolex on the left is worth now since gold price increased..haha..

The SS bracelet is already so koyak liao. How to wear? If a pawn shop takes in the watch, I think they're give a very low price because they'll still factor in the cost of replacing a new bracelet. A complete overhaul is likely to cost more than 1K

The gold one is called a Day Date and is worth quite a bit. Maybe close to 20K or even more?

the one on the right being a 6694. does it comes with box and papers? if it does, it might be worth to service it and sell it.

otherwise, if you trade it in now, u cannot get good price. service it and wear it for awhile below letting it go might be an option.

as for the one on the left, a complete overhaul might set u back close to 3k.

Nah...its just the watch alone ..no papers nothing...so i guess it would not fetch much...

just wondering is there any third party shop who would repair this watch at a cheaper price as i know going back to the official dealer would be more exp. i find it quit hard to justify to myself repairing a watch for 1000 + lol... just want it to tell the time that all...haha

Welcome..I guess I dun need to tell u which model it is since MP told u already.

The stainless steel bracelet from RSC for 6694 would set u back $751...if they didnt increase the price.

Servicing and "reviving" these to watches to life would cost you a big bomb. What I would have to ask first if...do you intend to keep it? Sentimental value?

Overhaul would cost ard $400 if I am not wrong...pls correct me if I am not wrong.

List price of the gold rolex is ard 30k,after discount 20k plus. But resale is a different story

Sometimes I have to agree..owning vintage watches can be a hassle..To sell is a waste...not to is a bomb...

As I stated in my last post....does this watch have any sentimental value to u? If it does hav...then I will advise you to bring it to life. Like wad I did to my DJ...though $751 for a new bracelet is crazy....but I find it worth it.

My suggestion is...buy a bracelet and crystal(if needed) from RSC and repair outside.

                    Okies

yeah. if u need to choose this route, go to alfred png @ golden mile hawker centre. dont rush him. he will do a decent job for you. however, ask him to quote first. if u need contacts for other independent repairers, maybe can ask horologyfantic for help.

You have to call Alfred in advance for an appointment, tell him your request and then fixed a date and time. He normally open his shop around 2pm and sometimes quite late, around 3.30pm. He normally close shop around 10pm. As his shop is small and always lots of customers, better call and fix appointment first.
Golden Mile Food Centre is essentially located next to KeyPoint. This is the place where all army boys go there to buy army surplus.
                            Hope this help.
