  • Help. Watch dropped. Glass damaged.

Help, my wife just dropped her lady datejust. The crystal has cracked, and the hands are not moving. The watch is a two-tone ladies datejust about 10
years old. Should I bring to to Rolex Centre, or to an independent watchmaker? If to latter, any recommendation? Many thanks.

I would prefer to bring the RSC... more ex than external craftsman but it would set my mind at ease... Just me.

Sorry to hear this misfortune. Hope that its easily repairable and not too costly...

    Good luck

cheap repair...... at most S$400. If i not mistaken. just dont move the hands, or attempt to do anything, as you will cause more damage by having the debris fall thru into the mov't

While replacing crystal at RSC, you'll be tempted to service the watch as well. So the bill would be slightly higher.

          Hello all,

Been surfing the forum for a while, finally can add something useful

My wife also dropped her 69173 way back in 2000, same thing happen, crystal cracked, pressed against the hands which were damaged.

          Sent to RSC for repair.

Repair then wasn't too expensive, SGD253

          They replaced
          1. Set of hands $58.70
          2. Cyclop Sapphire w Washer $119.60
          3. Washer for Tube O-R $0.00
          4. Washer for Back P $0.00
          5. Bar-13-O sunken holes $0.00
          6. Overhaul $75.00

So I would prefer to send it back to RSC.

          BTW Watch running fine since!
