It's the end link of the bracelet, the last piece connecting the bracelet to the watch. Yep, loss my too years ago, brought back to RSC and they replaced a new piece free of charge.

Is this the piece you are talking about?

If it is, it can detached itself due to age, but if you cannot find the lost
piece, RSC will replace. The cost was about $42 some years back.

I noticed a black stain after the piece came off. I thought it was soldered. Now, on hindsight, it could have been glued on.
