RSC asks to see the dated warranty card but I don't think they usually ask to see the purchase receipt AFAIK.
It's an international warranty.

Went to one AD today and was told that one of the brand new piece is without cert. He said I need to send it oversea to get it named. Sounds very wrong to me. Is that AD lying?

Envy your current collections.

I'm just curious, if no official tax invoice/receipt from AD, in case the authenticity of the Rolex watch got problem, who can we get back to since the details of the watch (e.g. model no, serial no.) is not captured.

In the alternative receipt, AD only captured a brief "Rolex Watch" description and the price paid. In the worst case scenario, if the watch is proved to be not authentic by RSC, the AD can denied they sold you the watch since no model number and serial number are captured in the cheapo receipt. For my case, AD did not tell me about the alternative receipt upfront when we agreed on the discount offered. I found out after I got home and consulted a friend about the official tax invoice.

I'm new to buying Rolex watch so didn't know of this "standard practise"... I'm just worried.

Need to check that the AD writes the serial number in the warranty card with AD stamp will do.
Overseas AD, will be different as you need to claim tax rebates or VAT at the airport. Hence everything will be clearly written.
Local AD needs to fight with foreign AD. Difficult to make a living. Can check those financial results of listed luxury watch company.

also wondering any AD can do 0% citibank installments.

i believe in the same shop different SA will quote you different price ~100 to 200 different. Thats my experience. If you have the time & patience, at most you get 300 offset.

I heard recently that overseas ADs were doing something like that. That is, if they sell you a popular ROLEX watch model, they will not give you in a full set. They may just give you the watch and box only. Thereafter, after some months, they will then give you the certificate and other documents/accessories that come with it. I think they are trying to prevent re-selling.

I'm not sure if our local ADs will adopt this, but recently, a friend bought a ROLEX watch from an AD without the box. He only collected his box a few months later.
