hi guys, any body have any experience with tan union? its behind peng kwee at people's park, was offered 5.8k for a explorer 2, as far as i can see, it looks brand new to me, told me still able to further discount, comes with box, papers and waranty, on top of that, the shop itself provides additional 2 years of waranty.

U might wana check e yr manufactured n stuff, go look around ask around n compare e age, B n P, links, pinhole or not(preference) n condition. write down somewhere go home have a beer clear ur mind a little before u commit, this is wat i do. My personnal advise "dun try till u decided which to buy fr cos once try is like drinkin poison"

first paragraph - well said. this is what i do.

second paragraph, i usually go to a new shop, paiseh to go back same shop. ask them for the max discount, if it is what i can get, i buy on the spot.

if you make your mind on the spot, usually you show the seriousiness of your intent on buying. the SA also see you in a different light, because given that i was the SA, i will really respect this type of buyer.

agree with your points. please check carefully before paying. i usually look out for signs of mismatching work, like the polishing work, the hands and dials, etc.

My $0.02...

The best place to buy watches cheaper than outside preowned shop is in our very own garage. you cut down on the middleman...go direct to seller. Seller can sell for a better price than the trade in value at preowned shops and buyers can buy at lower prices than preowned shop. Win win situation!

So recommended place..

1) SGROC Garage
2) Preowned watch dealers
3) Pawn shops....if you are ok with pieces that come w/o box and papers just the watch only. This is usually for those who buy to wear only. and not like...collect or something

half gold models are currently being sold @ a discount. they do not have the same retain value as SS models.

if u r looking to buy a watch for investment purpose, then dont get watch. currently, panerai have better retain value compared to rolex.

buy a watch because you like it. if it appreciates in value, good.
