I wanna find out too! Cos if you visit RSC just to change the crystal they will ask you to do a full service as well right? My gmt2c is less than 5 years will they ask me to do a full service even thought I only wanna change the crystal?

      Thanks if anyone can answer!

They will ask as a matter of procedure.
Up to you if you want to do full servicing

If you want to change crystal, just let them know to change crystal.
        But it all depends.
I find that RSC got some problem with standards.
Sometimes like this, sometimes like that.
See how big your face is lor.

If you just want to replace crystal, why go RSC?
Any good watch shop can do it and its a simple job.
Remove bezel , replace crystal and pop back the bezel.
Under skill hands , probably takes 15min to 20min.

Thanks for the reply! I understand some watch shop does replacement of crystal but are the crystal original or aftermarket? That's the issue I'm worried as original and aftermarket looks almost alike...

The original sapphire crystal comes with a laser-etched coronet located near the 6 o'clock position. If the original crystal has been replaced, there will be an "S" etched beside the coronet.

Seriously? with an S beside the coronet, so does it mean that if I change the crystal in other watch shops they will also get the original crystal with an S etched?

if it is original replacement crystal from Rolex, there's S etching to identify it as 'serviced'. If you change it outside, if the crystal is not original rolex crystal, then no S etching... and likely no Rolex crown laser etching too.

The last time i ask RSC about 2 years ago. They quote around $200 to $250 if i remember correctly.

Mine is a Sub. no date.

RSC will usually request a full service with crystal replacement.
Cost of crystal is $150, cost of service $900.
I dont know why there are double standards.
                      Reminds me of Cuba.

You must insist not to do service if not necessary.

I wasnt talking about Rolex in Cuba.
And it wasnt in relation to whether they are friendly or otherwise.

I was referring to the varying standards in Cuba generally as my personal firsthand experience has been such.

For eg, i ordered the same item from a menu twice and they came in vastly different proportions.
Not necessarily bad, just that it makes predicting what you will get more difficult.

Have you been to Cuba too?

Does anyone here know if B*nfield at Tanglin Halt Road does Rolex servicing and change of the crystal? If so, what are their charges and waiting time?
