  • RE: Sharper Image Watch Winder.

    Hi Gentlemen,
Gong Hei Fatt Choy! I have a problem with my watch winder and I would like to ask if there's any member who's using the same type or any master out there who can help me. I bought 2 of these single watch winder from Brookstone in the States many years ago and they are not working now The model no. is SI312.Any recommendations as to where I can sent these 'Sharper Image' winders to be fixed in Singapore? Thank you.

    Cheers!

      Hi mach1,

Is this the model where it swings instead of rotate?

Sorry to say this bro... DUMP IT!

Sharper Image swing-type winders were at one time almost sued by Orbita for infringing its "swing technology" but the case was dropped because SI showed that their winders uses a very strong magnet to pick up part of the winding pod to 12 o'clock and then drop to let the pod swing whereas Orbita uses the mechanical way.

Having said that, magnets and mechanical watches dont go together! Better be safe than sorry bro.

Go get an Abest, Eilux, Wolf or better yet... an Orbita.

          cheers!

            Hi ten10,
Thanks for the advice. Ya, the winder is quite flimsy. You are very knowledgeable and it is great to have someone like you in the forum. I will definately ask for your advice if I am getting one in the future. Cheers!

Brookstone has been acquired by OSIM - you should check locally if they can fix it.
