This is an actual picture of what happens to a Mitch & Marc winder. The nice ‘carbon fibre’ look is actually paper foil pasted on the thin MDF housing and sprayed with lacquer. To me, it’s now an overpriced winder after actually seeing it myself.

For winding of watches, you will have to look at whether the watch is "made" to turn "more" to clockwise or counter-clock wise, although technically speaking, all watches should be able to turn either way without spoiling the mechanics. Yet there are brands who make watches that turns both ways!

Any one knows why the watch makers make them this way?

Sorry I've not really been exposed to amnybwinders but the one I have allows me to set the TPD accordingly. All I need to do is set the TPD counter (digitally) accordingly. Will post a pic when I get home.

I dunno but I do known that valjoux 775x usually needs clockwise 850 TPD while most eta (2824, 2836) and most in-hose ( rolex, zenith el primero, Pam 9000 series ) is supposed to be both directions and 650 TPD.

It just means the watch will wind in either direction the rotor turns, CW or CCW. It's not that complicated.

Those from B&Z can adjust for the TPD but not sure about others... However, there is usually a minimum that you can set for the TPD, say 650 TPD. And for those who wants the watch to turn even lower than this, I would suggest a timer than..

er... I just set it to turn in both directions and it will do the rest on it's own.
