according to orbita website. cartier santos model is recommended between 650/800 TPD depending on calibre/movement.
@ 1000 TPD, it is a tad too high.
my suggestion is to wind(give it say about 4 complete turns) the watch before wearing watch for 2 days. after which place it on the winder and see if it does stop. if it does not stop, it means that there was not enough power reserve to start with prior to you placing it on a winder.
alternatively, if you got another winder or can borrow another winder. try the same watch by setting the recommended TPD on the other winder. if problem persists, you may want to send the watch to a watch technician to get them to check the watch. if the problem does not persist on second winder, it means your first winder may have some issues. send it to a watch winder specialist repair person to have it look @

Without looking at the type of winder you have there, I'm just making a calculated guess.
Here's what you do...
Get a piece of wood or any flat object about 2cm high and place it at the back of the (at the base) winder. The winder will now be tilted more towards you when you face it.
Place your watches back and set the appropriate parameters, then try it out for two days.
I suspect it has something to do with angular momentum vs angle of wind.
