Deciding between 176 and 372

as per title. i visited the ion pam boutique last night and tried on both pieces. the 372 was a clear winner but...... i didnt know they use glass instead of sapphire!!??

It's not even glass... 3mm plexiglass to be exact!

Guess Polywatch will be your best friend if you do get the 372!

I owned the 176 before. It is a nice piece but the 372 really blew me over.

Never mind the plexi glass, the 47mm 1950s case, gold hands, engraved luminor panerai etc just more than compensates for the sapphire (lack of). But frankly I do like the plexi, it does attract scratches but who cares?

You have to accept the micro swirls and scratches if you are looking at the 372, even wiping cloth on the plexi will cause it. If you do buy it from the Ion boutique, look for Azlan and discuss if he can help arrange to fit it with a 422 sapphire crystal at your cost.

Is the 372 plexi that wins me over, that the purpose of Panerai making this faux patina vintage look model. If is sapphire than i might think thrice to buy.

That should be for 372.

176 should be 8k or 9k-ish at boutique.
