  • PAM Resale value comparing with Rolex

There is no argument that the resale value of Rolex is great, especially the sport models. When comparing with Rolex, how do PAM compare?

I heard from brothers that PAM resale value is bad in general and if you lucky, you can get 50% if you sell it immediately after purchasing.

Anyone with experience with resale on PAM and made money? I not looking to make money on PAM cause I buy them for their looks and history. However, it is interesting to know how they comparing with Rolex.

50%? LOL... go bug the 'brothers' in this forum who told u that, and sell you their BNIB piece at 50% off. Generally, the resale price is subject to about 20-25% off RRP for resale price for the regular production models (Pam0,5,111,112,104.88,90) if it's under a month old. You'll be able to get more with Radiomir and more niche models.

The exception comes when its subject to 'first mover's advantage' for brand new models, especially in regards to the SIHH2013 releases. Hot from the oven, the owner will be able to flip the release for a nice profit if he's the first few in SG to own the release. It is what it is, no one else has it at that point in time. This is the same for Rolex, flippers were flipping The DeepSea and Milgauss GV when it was first released. Check out the new cobalt blue Yatchmaster as well, it's being sold at premium too.

As for selling pre-owned pams and making money, sure, many have succeeded pre-2008, just before Lehman's collapse. Economy was heating up and if u get your hands on a BNIB PAM0, u can surely flip it for at least a SGD500 profit on the same day, literally. These days? Nadah... fat hope... the only possible stance is if you buy a pre-owned piece way under market value, and hope to sell it for a small profit.

You can start lower balling all the sellers here to sell you that price, but pls dont call me, thanks very much.
Please re-read my post. I have no plan to "lowball" anyone nor plan to buy any offering 50% of the price. I was simply asking if the rumor I heard is real as I just starting to collect PAM.

Don't understand what all the heated responses are about.

I think guys here are just joking about the 50%
cos a bit drastic for a brand that is well trade with a
Decent after market so much so that they've mod here created
A separate thread fir the pan garage. When I first join this forum it was bundle
                        With the other watches category..LOL
Using a 312 as gauge of price RRP around $10k plus
Preowned going ard $7-7.5k depending on series
So it is reasonable to say 25%-30%(tops)

Apparently you have not been active in checking out the sale garage since you became a member in 2008. Such "rumour" can be easily validated by checking out the prices in this/other watch forum as well as the many preowned watch dealers' sites.

Anyway such responses are quite typical for a question like this but as one member said there is no ill intention behind those remarks, though some might sound sarcastic. But at least two other members have given you very good advice on the depreciation of PAM.

                              Pegasi,

Thanks and that was the type of answer I was Seeking. BTW, I didn't hear it from brothers on this forum, but rather from a guy who collects both Rolex and PAM. I even disagree with him as I just got brought a used but mint 270 with 27% off retail price.

Thanks to all those other comments.
