Thanks! Trust me, I don't take it in a bad way. However, I wonder why people write like that when they know everyone is reading.
On the flip side, I do learn a lot from every comments, so I do welcome them.

Good thing TS got the answer now and realise there is no such thing as '50% newly purchased pam'
If you ever get such an offer, you are an extremely lucky buyer - not what TS source claim as 'lucky seller'
U don't need to be lucky to sell a pam at 50%
Some bros here even willing to accept only 45% discount
True, many people reading, thats why we are all here to support good true info and to rebute fake fallacies
That's the beauty of this forumLast edited by skydweller_sg; 11-02-13, 08:32 PM.

If you goto the PAM forum, u can find the answer for what u r looking for.
Some newbies here might happen to just see your thread and thought it is true and start calling the seller to ask for 50% discount and shamelessly say that the forum is going at this price.
Don't worry about newbies thinking rumors are true as they can read what you had so gracefully explain it isn't. The thread started as a question and not a statement.
Again, no one is lowballing anyone.
Remember in school? The teachers always say, no question is too stupid to ask, just dumb answer. Let us less inform brothers (pussy cats as you so nicely called us) learn from those who is helpful and nice.
Lastly, happy the Year of Snake and enjoy you holidays with your family.

270 is a great watch
used but mint with 27% off retail seems a good deal (nice matching discount with the model number)
lets see some wrist photos of your new purchase

Thanks to all those other comments.

I love the dome on the 270 the most. It is just a joy to look at.
Here is his little brother.

Everyone is heated here because its almost "impossible" for a PAM (literally all models) to drop 50% in value right after purchase. If you have said certain models after 3-5 years with a fair bit of wear and tear, maybe. But right after walking out of the shop? sounds more like Casio or Seiko to me than the mighty PAM... 10-15% is bad enough IMHO.

TS could have spoken to a potential buyer who was trying to downplay the resale value of panerai, in the hope that TS would be psyched to sell his newly purchased 270 at a ridiculous 50% discount
that person could have low-balled others in a similar manner - he might have said the same to rolex, breitling, omega, AP, PP sellers
in any case, a forum like this one is where we rebuke fallacies
good sharing by TS

No need to get heated as I was simply confirming what everyone already knows.
I am glad the depreciation is more like 10-15% cause I just acquired couple PAM myself. No ill intention was intended when I started the post and apologized for pissing off some people by simply quoting some rumor I heard.
It is interesting to know that there is a lot of passion about the brand.
