  • The normal sound of P9000 rotor?

    Brothers,

What is the normal sound of P9000 movement? My 359 is rather loud, is it normal? In addition, it seems that the watch would immediately stop if by not wear it by just one day. Is that also normal?

    Thanks.

i think should last longer (for auto movement) unless you are wearing it only for a couple of hours in a day. My pam with OPIII (auto movement) last more than 2 days.

Are you complaining of the noise when the rotor is spinning or the balance wheel or...? My P9000 runs almost silent...can't hear anything unless I hold it next to my ear..power reserve is as stated..can last 3 days or so...

When placing the watch next to my ear, it is almost silence.

However, I can hear the spinning of the rotor (rather loud compare to a Rolex) when my wrist is moving. Is that normal?

You are very likely to refer to the rotor. That's quite normal, I can hear
Mine too when I purposely spin it.

Actually I can't hear the rotor spinning when I'm wearing it either..only when I purposely shake and spin it..

Me too. I'm a proud new Panerai owner reporting in. Got a preloved 351 recently.

Initially I was quite surprised that the rotor was so loud when i shook it. Then I searched online and it seemed to be the case.
My Rolex sub was absolutely quite so it was quite interesting that the P9000 movement rotor was so loud. But still loving the 351.

It should be silent. My 359 also silent unless i shake it.

Same with my 351 too. it is only when I flick my wrist, then I could hear the rotor spinning. But other than that, it has been totally silent.

some people has reported the p.9000 actually has this issue with the rotor - lazy rotor, ie does not spin as freely/smoothly as a rotor should
this is probably due to friction at the axle, some says its dependent on power reserve

                        i) http://www.network54.com/Forum/35339...ding+problems-

my p. 9001 on the pam 320 doesnt have these issues though

                          Hi bros,

Pam351 newbie reporting... Got my 351 last weekend, i got quite a shock when i was reverse parking my car coz got unusual sound coming from the steering wheel! Spent next 5mins checking out my car, only to find out....the sound was coming from my pam351's rotor! I guess it adds character to the watch and loving every minute it's on my wrist ;-)
Next stop, hunting for an awesome strap to go with it...

                            Dear bros,

Just want to update my 359 since my last post regarding problem with watch stopping after one day.

I took the watch to BD for services last week and they just informed me that the winding mechanism is not catching the inner gears. Therefore, although I fully wind it, the watch is never fully wind.

Te watch had just past it's warranty period. The cost for the services is HK$700 or approximately S$100. I think it is reasonable but hope they don't scratch the watch while servicing it as I so often read from other brothers.

I think PAM still have some ways to go on QA, please don't shoot me for saying that, as I do read lot of problems with their new in-house movements; specially the 8 and 10 days.
