I wear my base 111 much more than the Panarai own movement 351...it's simple, classic and stands out. And becos it is ETA, it reliable and easy to service next time without the need to go Richemont. How can that be a bad thing?

Base models are easier for maintenance. Appearance wise it is classic looking. Wear what you like and you can afford. enjoy.

I have to agree with the guys here, the base modelas are the smartest. No doubt, it's not in-house movement, but it's less complicated & clean. I have owned 111, 112, 90 & 359 over the years & honestly, the first two gave me the most joy. It looks good under a work shirt & just as at home in jeans & boots. So why dont you give one of the base models a try & if you dont like it, sell it cheap cheap to me! Merry Xmas!

Love the uncluttered look of the base models. Itching to get a 000 now. Argh, the Pam bug has bitten hard.

Why bother with such remarks? Most important is when you put on the watch and it puts a smile to your face whenever you are wearing it. If you put on a top of the line super limited edition model but you don like it, then its pointless isnt it?

Happy New Year, everyone. Have been away overseas...wow, thank you for all the sweet and kind comments

Another option is to go with the 42mm PAM 392. It looks great too, although I would prefer no second hand on the 9. But size wise, it should be ok on my small wrist. It's a new model and therefore is on the pricey side.

The main issue with 312 is its thickness not the case size. 392 houses the same movement but in a case 2mm smaller than the 312. Hence I imagine the thickness of 392 is even more obvious both look and feel wise so do take note.

On the other hand, some say 372 though 47mm doesn't wear very big and wear better than 312 due to it's thinner, so don't like base on case size.
