  • Panerai Movement number

    Dear guys,

Please bear with me if this question had been discuss. I'm quite new to Panerai and had bought a few for own usage and i understand that there is a Movement Serial number engrave on the side of the movement. Iirc, this movement number is not show on the warranty card nor stickers. How do we know that this movement belongs to this watch?

Because i remember reading a post regarding "authenticate of my panerai" post elsewhere and someone did mentioned bring it to XXX watchshop and they will open the caseback and check the movement number. Can that prove its authentic?

Just wanted to know more about Panerai and to be safe in the future when buying another PAM.

I'm so sorry for this noob question as i'm new in this hobby.

    TIA

Not sure which model you are referring to. Movement number is specific to each individual movement and this number is shown in the COSC cert (if applicable) and the sticker which shows the serial number, case number, movement number etc.

There is no guarantee just by looking at these numbers that it is genuine Panerai watch as I've seen very good fake watches that comes with stickers and matching numbers.

An example of of the movement number on an OPIII movement.

Bro, thanks for your input. I'm refering to PAM 219 OP X movement without COSC cert. So which means your 419343 is reflected on your COSC cert and stickers?

yes the cosc cert will show the movment number as well as the cosc cert number.

however the 219 OP X does not come with cosc cert. so you will have to depend on the movement sticker which shows the case number, serial number etc. which should tally with the engraved numbers on your 219 display caseback. you can't see the movement number without opening up the caseback.

I saw the movement number without opening it. Its engrave on the side that almost block by the caseback. Am i right?
Btw the PA000XXXXXX in the stickers is the movement number?
