  • Has anyone bought a Panerai from Prasetyo Alim before?

    Hi all,

New to the forum so wanted your experience and advice...

I have this person called Prasetyo Alim who is selling Panerai watches BNIB over the watch forums in Singapore at good (ie. cheaper) prices. His number is +62 818 313111. He says once agreed on watch and price, will meet and do exchange - cash on delivery.

Wanted to check if anyone here has ever bought a watch from him before? Can be trusted? Or should I get someone to verify that the watch is real?

I've bought 2 Pams from Alim, settled both deals at Richemont. So far so good. He should have no problems meeting you at Richemont or anywhere else to verify. Since it's your first trade with him and if it's a high value watch, probably a good idea to verify for peace of mind. On a separate note, and this is unrelated to who you deal with, I've realised that Pams sometimes have QC issues. I would recommend you check carefully, even if it's a BNIB watch. I've seen a relatively expensive model that has imperfections in the dial. You should communicate with the seller that you have the right to turn down a piece if it's not perfect.

Just FYI, Richemont Singapore has stopped offering authenticity verification services.

thanks both for the advice! will proceed with the meetup with him at the authenticator's and see how it goes.

My mind is still undecided between the PAM 312 and 111. I love the face design of the 312, but the 1950s case looks so thick on my wrist... wondering if there is any PAM that has the exact same face design, but with the thinner case. Also want it to still be in-house movement and automatic (maybe I am asking for the world haha).

Thinner 1950 already out last year.. but for manual inhouse movement like 372, not automatic. Automatic tend to be thicker due the to rotor.

Probably you can hope Panerai comes out with thinner inhouse movement to fit into the new 1950 case.

Thanks... i went to kaypo at the Officine Panerai store in ION yesterday - tried the 312 again and still the watch sits too high on my wrist sigh

do you know if there is a Pam that is:
            - mechanical
            - in house movement
            - has the same face design as the PAM111 or PAM312
            - sandwich dial
            - 44mm?

I keep asking the salesperson but they say don't have...

really asking for the world but then again, this isn't a seiko or casio watch we are talking about! :P

Face of 111 and 312 is not the same. seems like you like the sub sec dial.
try the 233, is not thick and it have sub sec dial BUT have a power meter on it dial.
