I think I have just caught the Pam poison, have been surfing the net about Pams. I narrowed down to just about 4 watches that I really like. The 000, 112, 005 and 104.

Not sure if I should get the manual or auto one. I was quoted 7200 for 112 and 6200 for the 005. What is the difference between the 000 and 112, other than op logo?

I know an AD that can give me 15% discount.
I prefer the cleaner look but am unsure if I should get a auto one instead. Headache.
    My madness so far:

112 has got decorated movement and the swan neck regulator while the 000 is a standard case-back.

112 has got the sandwiched dial while 000 is an embedded dial.

112 gives you an illusion that the word "Panerai" & "Luminor" is bigger than other model due to its clean dial

In Vendome era of Panerai, only three models are been bestowed the Panerai logo with the one and only 360 (the 4th one) to rule them all.

More or less you have decided. Manual winding it shall be.

      Thanks for replying senior Paneraii,

I am very new to Pams. what is the difference between the sandwiched dial and embedded dial? Which is better?

What does the Swan neck regulator do?

Which is your preferred choice of watch between the 000 or 112?

        this is sandwich dial

this is embedded dial (not painted dial like pam 90, pam 88)

        this is swan neck

        I will prefer 112 with 15% discount.

Sandwich dial looks more like a dome. I realised that the 112's movements can be seen from a transparent case. Ok well pop by this weekend to have a look. In the mean time, I am going for the 112 with 15% discount.

Sandwich dial is such a beauty. Plus, you are able to admire the movement. 112 no horse run.

Zero is the perfect starter PAM...it captures the Panerai DNA almost perfectly. Simplicity at its best.

Having said that you cant go wrong with 112 as well.

Best advice : try both on the wrist and see which one sings to you the loudest.

Personal opinion : zero the hero..

Swan neck regulator :The swan-neck spring is an adjustment system used to regulate the rate of a watch very exact. This is done by precisely creating return torque for the index using a spring that is shaped like a swan's neck. The swan-neck fine adjustment enables a finer adjustment than the conventional system (i.e. those w/o like the stock ETA ebauches).
