  • Good PVD buckles? (and hi from a noob)

Hi all, just got my first Pam, a 317K which I'm still over the moon about! Here's a wristshot:

Looking to preserve the stock PVD buckle so am looking for an aftermarket alternative. I've run a search but seems most discussions are centred around straps. Are there any brands which make pre-V buckles with outstanding PVD work? Hope the experts here could drop me some names so I can do more research. Buying local is definitely better because I can see the product in person. Thanks!

Believe some strap makers (check sticky thread in this sub-forum) carry PVD buckles. I got mine from Micah (www.vintagerstraps.com) together with my custom-made strap.
    My madness so far :

    Bell & Ross BR03-94 Phantom
IWC 320104 Antoine de St Exupery Power Reserve - For Sale
    IWC 371701 Pilot's Chronograph
    IWC 500401 Big Pilot
PAM26K Luminor Marina Left-handed Special Edition
    PAM233K Luminor 1950 8 Days GMT
    PAM190H Radiomir 8 Days

great watch for a 1st buy. however i don't think it does any justice to a $30k watch by using an aftermarket alternative. worse case you could buy a new Panerai PVD buckle from RSC if the present one is worn out.

Thanks man, maybe the next purchase will be something more traditional.

But I'm cheap that way. Haha point taken. We'll see how the aftermarket buckles look when I get them, may stay with stock. Less incentive to change now, just noticed last night, after 4 days of use, the tang is already developing a line where it touches the buckle. Oh well so much for preserving it.

You might wanna to try Kain Heritage? Unfortunately it is not local based. I got my straps n buckles from there (via mails) which I am impressed. Thick Crocs straps plus PVD buckle.
For Local, bro level z is definitely a nice guy to deal with, you might wanna to check out with him on the straps/buckle?
Visiotime which carry JNS straps do offer some straps customisations.

Yup, I've checked out Kain. Not that big a fan of "logo-ed" buckles, but I did order from Zergun (logo) and Strap Works (plain). I'll share feedback when I receive them.

Just to share another source, Greg Stevens does PVD buckles too, looks good from the pictures. Contacted level z already, should be picking one up tonight. Thanks for all the tips!

Why not either getting the DLC buckles from StrapCulture/Heroic18 versus PVD. They tend to be more sturdy.

If not, get another buckle and send it for aftermarket DLC services.
